CONTROL
DEVICES : Energy saving & efficiency
control devices
In Industrial
process engineering plants the volume flowing is subject to the demands
of the process operations. Exhaust and combustion air quantities are
varied in accordance with the load on the steam producing plants or
similar equipment. The selection and construction of the fans aims
to achieve maximum efficiency throughout the operational range of
the plant, particularly under partial load conditions. The adjustment
of the overall efficiency to the actual operational neds frequently
leads to large energy savings, particularly as a small reduction in
the volume flowing results in a considerable reduction in the power
absorbed. The combination of different method of varying the fan throughput,
all automatically controlled by plant demand, should lead to the greater
possible energy saving. This is particularly so in the case of variable
speed drives as the power required varies as the 3rd power of the
volume flow i.e at half volume flow the power demand is only one eighth
of the original power.

FANS
CONSTRUCTION :
Leading differences are existing in the construction in respect
of the inlet and bearings. The decision, whether a single or
double width construction is necessary, is determined by the
technical data. The impeller diameter, the impeller geometry
and the speed have influence on the device of bearing. Double
width fan impellers are generally constructed with a suction
box (respt. With two suction boxes with the DHRV).
